What is the ATHENA clinical research study?

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions resulting in optic nerve damage, which may cause loss of vision. Ocular hypertension is when the pressure inside the eye (intraocular pressure or IOP) is higher than normal. Ocular hypertension can develop into glaucoma.

This study will research a prescription, branded medication that is approved for use in eye drops, and has been used by millions of patients. It is being tested in an investigational dropless delivery system. All participants will receive active study medication or procedure, in both eyes.

Study participation is approximately 24 months (approximately 28 visits and 5 phone calls).

What will I receive if I qualify and enroll in the ATHENA research study?

During the study, you will receive study-related care and investigational medication at no cost.

Study-related doctor visits will provide you with thorough eye exams and carefully monitor your care throughout the study. Your study medication will be provided throughout the research study. Plus, you may also receive additional compensation for your time and necessary travel to study visits.

Your time is valuable, therefore we appreciate your interest in researching the future of glaucoma therapy.
